The Ideal Education School follows Behavioral Characteristics Progression (BCP) program which is a criterion-referenced assessment and instructional planning system for use with children and adults who are functioning between the developmental ages of approximately 1 to 14 years.
The BCP is a non-standardized continuum of behaviors. It serves very efficiently as the following tools:
As an assessment tool, the BCP provides the teacher and/or diagnostician with a wide-ranging outline of pupil abilities and disabilities thereby identifying the areas in which the student requires intervention. As an instructional tool, the BCP helps the special education teacher devise individualized and appropriate targets for each pupil. In this manner, the individual can be taught according to his/her rate and style of learning.
As a Statistical tool, the BCP can be utilized for tracking the students' development through his entire school career thereby providing a chronological recording tool (profile) throughout the educational tenure of the student.
