Ideal Evening Program The Canadian Rehabilitation
Evening Group for children with special needs is a recreational program
at Ideal Education School for the general public. It runs daily from 4:30
p.m. to 7:30 p.m. The goal is to provide special services for those children
who require rehabilitation through a "holistic approach". The
evening club provides life skills to boys and girls between the ages of
4 to 21. Cognitive skills are developed through fun and recreation. The
children learn prevocational and vocation skills. They enjoy computer
programs, music, arts and crafts, swimming, and cooking. They learn social
skills and community awareness by going out on field trips. Those children
who require other support services can also have individual sessions with
Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists, and a teacher
of Makaton (an augmented language communication system). The children
in the evening program are always under the close supervision and guidance
of a qualified and well-experienced staff. Ideal Education School is striving
to provide the best quality care to children of all ages with special
needs.
Ideal Education School provides students with life experiences that will further promote the self esteem, confidence and independence which will lead to richer and more productive lives. The foundation of this program is based on the premise that everyone has the right to live and to learn in an environment which is empowering and self actualizing, and which fosters hopes, dreams and goals for the future. In this program all children with special needs (those who attend I.E.S.
and those who do not) are given an opportunity to leave their families
for holidays abroad, accompanied and supervised by an I.E.S. staff trained
to provide for their safety and well-being. I.E.S. is affiliated with
two holiday destinations abroad which cater to children with special needs:
