The physiotherapists assist in the
gross motor development of all students with physical disabilities, sometimes
using hydrotherapy. Physiotherapy (PT) programs are implemented and applied
according to each student's needs, and teacher and parent expectation
(an I.E.P. is done by a physiotherapist for every student receiving physiotherapy).
The physiotherapy team utilizes all the school's facilities
inside
the PT department, outside in the gym, swimming pools, play areas, the
school corridors, the classrooms, and up and down stairs. Physiotherapists
train staff members to safely handle, move, and seat their students who
have physical disabilities. They deal with muscular and articular systems,
the nervous system, body mechanics and the disabilities, impairments and
handicaps related to them.
